KYC: Difference in Effects
In our previous blog, we covered some of the different types of extraction that result in a variety of ways to consume concentrates. The different methods of dabbing extract have unique effects.
Distillate cartridges can be more mild as they generally do not contain cannabis derived terpenes. This can also make them more discrete as they will have a less potent cannabis smell. Vaping with a cartridge has more mild effects compared to a wax pen.
Live resin, full spectrum, and 1:1 oil cartridges may feel more effective than distillate carts. This is due to higher cannabinoid content. Cartridges are a great option for those who are new to cannabis or starting to branch into extracts.
Wax pens are similar size as cartridge vapes. They can be used as an introduction to hash oil dabs. The YoCan or Puffco Plus are popular wax pens. Wax pens are also considered a portable method of vaping extract for those with higher tolerance that need more relief
Wax pens are great for beginners and experts alike. The temperature settings on a wax pen can be lowered to decrease the amount of vapor and get a more clear-headed high. Pens help to control the amount of dab you’re consuming. It is recommended that you start with a small amount of oil, about the size of a grain of rice or smaller.
Some wax pens are dual function and are 510-thread compatible. The wax chamber can be switched out for any 510-thread cartridge. Some dual function wax pens come with empty 510-thread cartridge which can be filled with a Full Spectrum Hash Oil syringe
E-Rigs, like Puffco Peak and Dr. Dabber Switch, are a semi-portable vaping option for dabs of hash oil to achieve desired effects for those with higher tolerance. E-Rigs fall somewhere between the vape pen and a traditional rig - blow torch and banger.
E-Rigs are larger in size than a vape pen and offer more intense effects from more hash oil vapor but are smaller than traditional rigs for easier transport. Most come with a carrying case but wont fit in your pocket like a wax pen or cartridge and battery.
The electronic bowl temperature settings remove the need for intimidating accessories like a blowtorch, making the experience more beginner friendly. By using a higher temperature, you can achieve similar effects to a traditional rig. You can also lower the temperature for a more flavorful, efficient, and balanced method of hash oil consumption.
