Terpenes

Terpenes are aromatic oils from the glands of plants, including cannabis plants. Terpenes are produced along with THC, CBD and other cannabinoids. Each cannabis strain has a unique terpene composition that can produce a variety of aromas and flavors. Referred to as the entourage effect, terpenes amplify the benefits of cannabinoids. The combination of terpenes and cannabinoids creates the strain specific effects and influences. Terpenes are thought to have their own medicinal properties, which is why other plants high in certain terpenes are used for pain relief, insomnia, and mood elevation.
